Film Shoot in the Sixties

05/28/2008

How things change. The photograph below was taken when I was starting out as a cinematographer, notice the size of the camera. It is an Arriflex 16mm camera inside a sound blimp.

The second photo is an Arriflex 35mm film camera, the location is Papua New Guinea 1963. The film was a documentary and intended for the big theatre screen, if it was used on television it was reduced to 16mm. 16mm was regarded as substandard in the sixties.
